Sarang Temple

This is the Sarang temple, located just 23 kilometers from Panna, which is also known as the ashram of Sutikshan Muni. During the Rampath Gaman here, Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Sita appeared before Sutikshan Muni, the disciple of Rishi Agastya, under Akshay Vat and Lord Rama placed his bow on this land to kill the demons for the atrocities being committed on the sages. It was here that Ram Ji took a pledge to kill the demons by raising both his arms. This has been described in the Aranyakand of Lord Tulsidas’ Ramayana.
